Erik Wikane is a senior policy specialist at The Hilltop Institute. As such, he conducts general ledger template reviews, manages service provider submissions, and conducts technical assistance communications to support data-driven rate setting for the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Medicaid waiver services. Erik was a contractual policy specialist at Hilltop prior to his current position.

Prior to joining Hilltop, Erik was a research assistant with the UMBC School of Public Policy, where he analyzed geospatial data within the Climate & Economic Justice Screening Tool (CEJST) to develop an equitable methodology for FEMA grant determination processes using distributional weighting. In addition to this role, he was a graduate assistant within the UMBC Department of Education, where he contextualized education policy for a VR teacher training space and contributed to the development of a coding methodology aimed at highlighting the social-emotional and academic outcomes of STEAM-centered learning interventions.

Erik earned his MPP (master of public policy) with a specialization in health policy and a BA (magna cum laude) in political science from UMBC.
